Our Story
Community-Driven Action Against Preventable Blindness
Established in 2021,
The Somaliland Prevention of Blindness Organization (SOPOBO) is a leading eye health organization operating throughout Somaliland. Headquartered in Hargeisa, SOPOBO was founded in response to the rising burden of avoidable blindness and visual impairment affecting communities especially in rural and underserved regions.
We are guided by the principles of equity, accessibility, and sustainability, and we are dedicated to ensuring that every person regardless of age, gender, or economic background has access to quality eye care services.
